1. Water pump's selection principles:

First, the type and performance of the pump must meet the requirements of process parameters such as flow rate, head /lift, pressure, temperature, cavitation flow and suction head.

Second, the type and performance of the pump must satisfy the requirement of medium characteristic. For transporting inflammable, explosive, poisonous or valuable medium, the shaft seal of the pump must be reliable mechanical seal and has no leakage.

For transporting corrosive medium, the pump is required to use corrosion resistant material.

For transporting medium containing solid particles, the wet parts of the pump are required to adopt the wear-resisting material, and the shaft seal should be washed with clean liquid when necessary.

Third, choose pumps with mechanically high reliability, low noise, low vibration.

Forth, choose suitable material and shaft seal of the pump which influence the price.

Lastly, make the overall cost of equipment, operation, maintenance and management costs is the lowest.

2. Five basic aspects:

a. Flow rate: the normal flow rate of 1.1 times as the maximum flow.

b. Pump Head: it is generally used to select the type with a magnification of 5% to 10%.

c. Liquid properties, including liquid medium names, physical properties, chemical properties and other properties.

d. The pipeline layout: the delivery height, distance and direction of the liquid and the pipeline specifications to calculate and check the pump head and cavitation.

e. Operating conditions: such as altitude, ambient temperature, working intermittent or continuous, and the position of the pump is fixed or movable.
